Kelly College Swimming Pool prides itself as being one of the leading Development Training Centres in the South West and our aim is to provide “excellence in swimming and education”. Kelly College Swimming Pool has produced several elite international swimmers through its Swim Squad Programme, including eighty Great Britain Senior International swimmers and medallists in the Olympic Games and European Championships.

The Pool is also used throughout the day and evening for various other activities, such as Children’s Lessons, Children’s Parties, Adult Training, Referral Swimming, Public Sessions and various other private pool hiring. Furthermore, during school holidays we run several courses provided by the ASA and the RLSS.

Our ever popular Residential Swim School, led by Archie Brew, runs three times a year.  It is a residential programme at Easter and in the Summer and non-residential at Christmas.

The pool is also used in our growing range of Triathlon Coaching days run by former olympic swimming coach, Nick Robinson.

History
Kelly College Swimming Pool was built in 1888 as an 18yd open-air pool. It was unheated and fed from the local leat. In 1976 it was extended to its current 25m x 10m size and had a corrugated iron roof and brick walls built around it. A small plant room was also added to heat it. In August 2005 the roof was modernized with strong insulation, and an up to date ventilation system was installed. In August 2006 the old Plant Room was vastly improved with 2 new filters and dosing systems. Also in 2006 the old wooden framed windows at the Deep End were replaced with modern PVC ones.
