 About Us

Welcome to Kelly College Preparatory School, a well-established school for boys and girls aged three to eleven years, offering flexi-boarding from nine years. We occupy a beautiful and peaceful site on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Children are encouraged to give of their best in work, play and behaviour in our caring, family atmosphere. They are taught in small classes by well-qualified, dedicated staff, offering individual attention and nurturing the talents of each pupil.

The following pages offer a glimpse of our school but cannot convey the happy, stimulating environment that we provide. We would be pleased to arrange a visit, enabling you to fully appreciate our school at work and play. A prospectus with more detailed information is available on request. We look forward to meeting you.

 Sports

We have extensive playing fields and offer a wide range of sporting activities. Netball, football, cricket, rounders and athletics are amongst those on offer.

Also available to us are the excellent facilities at Kelly College, including the large indoor, heated swimming pool. Swimming lessons are timetabled weekly from Year 2. Specialist teaching has enabled several pupils to represent the school at both regional and national level in sports ranging from cross-country to swimming.

There is a busy inter-school fixture list and various inter-house competitions running throughout the year.

 Clubs

A wealth of clubs and activities, both during and after school hours, is available to the children. After school clubs include, chess, orchestra, art and crafts, sewing, dance and ballet, latin and many more that change on a termly basis . Specialist coaches/teachers are frequently employed for many of the activities.  Concerts and musical productions complement our arts programme.

Expeditions and outings to a variety of places and visits from specialists are integral to our broad curriculum. A residential skiing trip is just one of the exciting events organised. Year 5 enjoy a residential visit to London. Year 6 have a residential trip to the Adventure Centre.
The close proximity of the school to Dartmoor also enables us to offer a variety of Adventure Training activities.
