The Kelly Prep Parents Association is an organisation run by the parents of the school. We hope all parents will be members and pay the small voluntary subscription.
Our objective is to assist and realise a wish list of extra facilities for the benefit of the children and the school. We accomplish this by planning and running activities to raise money in addition to subscription.
Recently, we have worked on and completed the sensory garden/outdoor classroom, and last year we bought four laptops with software that are used throughout the school for children who need a little extra help.
Bonfire Night is a popular annual event at which the PA provides and serves refreshments. The money raised is used to fund a variety of Christmas events for the children, including the pre-prep Christmas party and the Prep disco. Both these events are organised and run by members of the PA and staff.
In the past we have held a quiz night, a pudding party and a fashion show along with regular events such as an annual ball and cake stalls at pick up time - always a favourite with the children! We aim to run events that are both great fun and raise money.
Beginning this year we intend to expand the aims of the PA and to donate a portion of our funds to a chosen local charity. This year we have selected CHICKS.

The committee meets on an as needed basis. Meeting times are posted at school and in newsletter. In addition to the committee we have a pool of parents who are happy to help with particular events or bake a cake for one of the sales. New faces are always welcome and appreciated.
We always welcome any suggestions for events or activities. In a future newsletter we plan to print a 'request for email addresses' form so that we can let everyone know of forthcoming events and ask for help when needed - we promise not to bombard you! We are planning a page on the school website which we hope will further develop our communication channels.
Our plans for this year include refurbishment of the school foyer to include a new electronic screen to keep us informed of events and to promote the achievements of our children along with a Trophy cabinet, bibs in house colours for sporting events and updating equipment in the library. We have also agreed to supply some equipment for the after school clubs and the staff are presently preparing a wish list
