As an independent school we balance a high standard of academic schooling – in 2011 again achieving an A Level pass rate of 100% – with a strong commitment to an extensive range of extra-curricular activities. This includes our own on-site outdoor adventure centre.

We have a strong sporting tradition, both in the south-west, nationally and internationally and offer a full range of team and individual sports. Our extra-curricular activities are extensive and we are exceptionally active with the Combined Cadet Force, Ten Tors Challenge and Duke of Edinburgh Award schemes. Other activities include a strong and varied range of societies such as literary, debating, drama, choral and public speaking.

Recent outstanding achievements include Kelly Swimming Squad winning the Cornwall and West Devon League and 22 pupils completing the challenging 125 mile Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon, winning the Schools’ Competition. Four talented pupils also won the inaugural competitive Engineering Education Scheme, after a six-month project phase, in which they demonstrated industrial enterprise, creativity and innovation.
