Schools and Youth Groups

The Adventure Centre has over 10 years of experience running residential courses for schools and youth groups. Here at the Adventure Centre we believe that all our residential courses should be more than just a fun activity week, instead we use the outdoors as a learning tool to develop participants self- confidence, motivation, communication skills, leadership and team work. We have a flexible approach, working together with the teachers/leaders to produce a programme that meets the individual aims and objectives of the group. Programmes are wherever possible linked to the National Curriculum as their residential experience should be seen as an integral part of their education.

For the duration of your stay we endeavour to ensure your course runs smoothly. All prices include all instruction from day activities to evening activities, equipment, accommodation and catering. There are free places available for teachers/leaders in line with Local Education Authority guidelines regarding staff to pupil ratios.

Individual Challenge

Activities can be selected to develop confidence through personal achievement. Emphasis is placed on support from the group and trust in staff and equipment.

Team Challenge

Challenges often involve a team focus alongside the individual element, similar to the working day. A variety of challenges can be approached as individual tasks or as part of a complex business scenario

Learning and Personal Welfare

Quality learning takes place in a positive and enjoyable environment. Safety, trust and enthusiasm are also vital components of a productive course. As well as physical safety, emotional welfare is vital in providing effective training

Challenge and Support

All challenge activities are optional to allow for individual strengths. Clients are given ownership to decide how the team tackles a task or programme. Support is as vital as participation. Tasks require planning and clear communication to ensure the overall success of the team. Through these tasks we can design courses to simulate your workplace issues.

Team Development

The core of all our courses - the team working and developing together in a focused and challenging environment.Tasks can be followed up with skilled reviewing to discuss the learning and relate directly back to the workplace.
