The Middle School - Forms 4 and 5 (Years 10 and 11)
Pupils study the following core subjects to GCSE level:-
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Separate subject GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics [3 GCSEs]
- Additional Applied Science GCSE
- Aditional Science GCSE
- Core Science GCSE
- ICT (for the ECDL qualification)
Four subjects are then chosen from the following option subjects to be taken as full GCSEs:
- Art and Design
- Design & Technology (Product Design)
- Drama
- French
- Geography
- German
- History
- Music
- Physical Education
- Religious Studies
- Spanish

English as a Second Language
Independent Study
In addition, all students continue with the non-examinable Personal and Social Education programme.
In order that each individual's curriculum is properly balanced, careful guidance is given when the choices are made and a booklet is produced which explains the options available which gives a short description of each course.
Parents of new pupils joining the Fourth Form/Year 10 are asked to contact Mr McDermott, Deputy Head, Academic, at an early stage to discuss options.
